Located in the heart of Venice, Artefact Mosaic Studio is a unique workshop dedicated to the art of mosaic-making, where Italian craftsmanship meets contemporary creativity. Founded by Alessandra Di Gennaro and Romuald Mesdagh, both graduates of the renowned Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli, the studio is known for its meticulous attention to detail and the use of high-quality materials, including Murano glass and carefully selected marble from around the world.

Now, they open their doors to visitors who want to experience this ancient craft firsthand through exclusive hands-on workshops.

Available Experiences

Guided Visit (45 minutes) – €25 per person

Get an introduction to the fascinating world of mosaics, observing up close the intricate techniques used by expert artisans.

Hands-On Workshop (2 hours) – €90 per person

A fully immersive experience where participants learn about the history of mosaics and the techniques behind their creation. During the workshop, you will:

• Cut marble or Murano glass using a traditional hammer
• Prepare the mortar
• Position and set the mosaic pieces, working closely with the artisan

Although a full mosaic cannot be completed in two hours, you will gain rare and valuable insight into the artistic process, leaving with a deeper appreciation of this ancient craft.

Intensive Workshop (4 hours) – €180 per person

A more in-depth exploration of mosaic-making techniques, allowing for greater practice and understanding of the craft.
