Joseph Kosuth. The-exchange-value-of-language-has-fallen-to-zero
29 March 2026 – 22 November 2026
Location:
Casa dei Tre Oci
Description:
Casa dei Tre Oci hosts an exhibition dedicated to Joseph Kosuth, a key figure in the development of conceptual art. The project brings together works from different periods alongside a new intervention created specifically for Venice, shaping a path that focuses on the relationship between language, thought and perception.
The exhibition invites visitors to reflect on how language influences what we see and the meaning we assign to things. Text-based works, installations and historical pieces are arranged in a minimal setting where each element encourages interpretation and critical thinking.
The display spans several phases of Kosuth’s career, consistently exploring the value of images, signs and definitions. Nothing is presented as fixed or final: each work opens a space for reflection, where meaning is shaped through the interaction between the artwork, the environment and the viewer.
Within the spaces of Casa dei Tre Oci, this approach becomes especially powerful, turning the visit into a quiet and focused experience. The result is a rigorous yet engaging exhibition, ideal for those who appreciate art that continues to resonate beyond the moment of viewing.
