Jenny Saville
28 March 2026 – 22 November 2026
Location:
Ca’ Pesaro – International Gallery of Modern Art
Description:
Ca’ Pesaro presents a major exhibition dedicated to Jenny Saville, one of the most important painters in the contemporary art scene. The exhibition traces her work from the 1990s to the present, offering a complete and coherent view of her artistic evolution.
The show brings together paintings and drawings that highlight the strength of her pictorial language and her deep connection to artistic tradition. Her works, often large in scale, are built through layers of color and energetic gestures that create powerful and intense images.
At the center of her practice is the human body, represented without idealization. The figures emerge with a strong physical and emotional presence, challenging classical standards of beauty and offering a more raw and complex vision of the human form.
The exhibition establishes a dialogue with the history of Venetian art, placing contemporary painting in conversation with the great masters of the past. The final section features a series of works created specifically for Venice, conceived as a tribute to the city and its artistic heritage.
The result is a visually striking experience that connects past and present, highlighting the expressive power of painting.
